Description
Star Wars Archive Collection’s newest edition is this incredible Space Slug replica from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back!
Part of our work creating authentic recreations with impeccable lineage, these faithful replicas were developed with extensive hands-on access and a high resolution 3D laser scan of the original film-used artifact in the prop archives.
This hyper-limited Dual Signature Edition 1:1 Prop Replica of just 100 pieces is a massive 34″ long, including the black metal display base. This fiberglass replica is crafted at full scale to the original puppet in the prop archives. The larger-than-normal plaque is hand-signed by ILM legends Phil Tippett, who sculpted the original and Doug Beswick, who made the mechanism for the beast.
Each exogorth replica is hand painted in many layers including washes and spatter to match the style and colors of the original prop. The static replica is made from durable fiberglass with magnetic removable eye stalks for safe shipping. These impressive replicas were painstakingly developed and paint mastered in our New York studio.
Each statue in this signature edition includes a metal plaque and COA. This replica will be packed in a corrugated kraft shipper box with carved foam insert, gloss insert card and COA.
Do not miss this extraordinary opportunity to bring home an authentic replica, recreated from the original artifact with a direct connection to the artists that inspire us!

The Archive Collection – Recreating an Artifact
“The Space Slug in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was such a wonderful surprise. While it was obvious that it was a puppet, I had no idea how large the original filming prop was! Years back, we first saw the prop in the famed Archives it just seemed massive! With that in mind, we developed this scaled version to create a unique option for collectors who didn’t have the space for our 1:1 replica.
We spent a considerable amount of time hands-on with that original prop puppet, over the course of several visits, using photography, color matching and 3D laser-scanning to help with our recreation of the original artifact for this edition. An added asteroid base, dynamic posing and removable miniature Millennium Falcon give this edition its own identity.
We prototyped this piece entirely in our New York studio, crafting the mold and paint masters here. I’m proud of the work of Regal Robot’s lead digital artist, Christian Maggi, who prepared this scan for production and our development specialist Max Frey, who did on the paint mastering for this project. The end result is a static resin replica that I believe really captures the feeling of looking at the original prop and the dynamics of the scene from the movie!
We’re all so proud of this special prop replica, and I can’t wait to see it in the collections of discerning prop and statue fans and Star Wars collectors!” – Tom Spina (Regal Robot founder)
