PWR use Tridon thermo switches to allow automatic operation of thermo fans in response to changes in coolant temperature. Switching control is achieved through a bimetal alloy leaf, which deflects with changes in temperature opening and closing a set of contacts. Each switch is calibrated to specific ON/OFF temperature ratings.
